Your stone shop, one town over
Hanover kitchens tend to run big: open plans, oversized islands, walk-in pantries. Oversized stone work is exactly where in-house fabrication matters, because seams, support and slab layout have to be engineered before the first cut, not improvised on installation day.
We serve Hanover homes from the Four Corners area out to the neighborhoods near Hanover Crossing, about 20 minutes from our Weymouth shop. Islands that need two slabs get book-matched and approved by you in the shop before anything is cut.
Large islands and the engineering they need
An oversized kitchen island is one of the most visible features in a Hanover open-plan home, and it is also one of the most technically demanding countertop projects. Getting two slabs of granite or quartzite to read as one continuous surface requires precise vein matching before the cut, structural support planning for spans over 30 inches, and careful seam placement at a point that disappears when the island is in use. Because we cut and polish in-house, we plan all of that before the stone leaves the shop. You see the layout approved on the slab before fabrication starts.
Hanover's mix: from Four Corners ranches to newer construction off Route 53
Four Corners brings a mix of older ranch-style and split-level homes where kitchen renovations often run alongside new cabinetry. The newer developments near Hanover Crossing and along Cedar Street attract families who want quartz for its maintenance-free surface and the wide range of white and gray options. Both ends of town end up in the same place: a kitchen where the countertop is the finish that pulls everything together. Outdoor kitchens are also a growing part of our Hanover work, particularly granite and quartzite tops for entertaining spaces built around the larger lots the town offers.

“Stone Design Pro has a great selection in every price range. Evan is outstanding and incredible knowledgeable. We were doing an entire house and went back several times before making decisions. Evan was always patient and helpful. He made great recommendations and always had options if something we selected didn’t work for whatever reason. I highly recommend Stone Design Pro.”

“Evan and his team were outstanding! They didn't balk at the small size of my kitchen, were incredibly accommodating, efficient, tidy, friendly, and always on time. Better yet, I have my dream kitchen!”

“My dealings with the team at Stone Design Pro was the best part of my bathroom remodel. The first time I stopped in there, with no appointment, Evan and the stone cutters were happy to show me as many full stone pieces and remnants as I wanted. It was like this each time I went there. In addition, Evan was able to guide me through the entire process of stone selection, sizing, planning and cutting.”
Hanover questions
Often yes: jumbo slabs run up to roughly 10 feet in many materials. When a design exceeds slab size, we plan the seam placement with you so it lands where it disappears.
Yes. Granite and quartzite tops for outdoor kitchens and bars are a growing part of our Hanover work. Standard quartz stays indoors.
About 20 minutes: 1235 Main St in Weymouth, straight up Route 53/18. Bring your plans and leave with a real quote.
Yes, always. For large islands and any project with multiple slabs, we plan the layout with you on the actual stone before any cutting starts. You approve the seam placement and vein direction in person.
Granite and most quartzites handle New England freeze-thaw cycles well. We do not recommend standard quartz for outdoor use because it is not rated for extended UV exposure. We will tell you honestly which materials work outside and which do not.
